The 2021 South32 Rottnest Channel Swim is now sold out. Registrations for 2022 will open in October 2021.
Due the WA Government’s announcement of eased border restrictions interstate entries will now occur concurrently with the WA entries.

Solos and Lavan Charity Challenge teams:
Solo and Charity Challenge registration took place for all interstate and WA swimmers between 8.30am (AWST) Monday, 26 October till 12.00 noon (AWST) Tuesday, 3 November 2020. Registrations for 2021 are now closed.
As per previous years, if you register as a solo swimmer and make payment during this time, you’ll be guaranteed entry into the event.
Teams and Duos:
Registration will be open from 8.30am (AWST) Wednesday, 4 November 2020.
If you register in a duo or team, you’ll need to confirm your commitment to enter by making full payment of the entry fee when you register. Your entry will be confirmed after your successful payment.
Captains of duos and teams who successfully register will receive notification via email and can then invite team members to join. Team mates will have until 10pm Sunday, 8 November 2020 to join their team. Teams who do not have all team members entered by this cut-off date risk losing their entry.
If your team has already registered, you’ll need to join the team when you register.
Payments after the registration window won’t be accepted – paying the entry fee when you register confirms your commitment to enter. There will be no refunds for duo and team entries who have successfully registered.
Payment can be made when you register. Entry fees and additional t-shirts can be paid for with either VISA or Mastercard via the online registration system. Please note that you will need to have an up to date website browser to facilitate the security requirements of the payment portal. Failure to have an up to date browser may result in you being unable to complete your registration.
Don’t try to submit more than one entry – swimmers who submit more than one entry will be penalised and all team members will be banned from entering the Rottnest Channel Swim for two years; the current event and the next event. Swimmers are also not permitted to enter in more than one category.
Important for solo swimmers
Under the Event Rules, if you intend to do the swim alone you must’ve either:
- Completed a Rottnest Channel Swim solo crossing within the previous two years, or
- Completed a 10km qualifying swim between 31 October 2020 and 1 February 2021 in 4 hours and 15 minutes or less.
Solo swimmers who don’t complete the 10km in the time required won’t qualify and won’t be permitted to start.
If you’re a solo swimmer and you successfully complete the crossing, you’ll receive an individually embroidered official Rottnest Channel Swim t-shirt. When you register, you’ll need to choose your t-shirt size as per the size guide – keep in mind there are no exchanges for t-shirts.
Solo swimmers who withdraw from the event or are unsuccessful in the crossing will not be entitled to receive the individually embroidered t-shirt.
Duo and team swimmers
If you’re in a duo or team, you’ll receive a South32 Rottnest Channel Swim t-shirt with your entry. You’ll receive it in your registration pack at the Event Briefing held in February – you’ll be able to exchange your t-shirt size there, if the correct size is available.
