Who runs the Virtual South32 Rottnest Channel Swim events?
The Rottnest Channel Swim Association provides pools and swimming groups internationally with all of the materials they need to run their own Virtual South32 Rottnest Channel Swim events. The events are managed and run by local pools and swimming clubs, from registrations to the event day. Should you have any questions about a Virtual South32 Rottnest Channel Swim event, it’s best to contact your local pool or swimming club directly.
What are the swimming categories?
The Virtual Swim categories for swimmer are:
Solo (continuous) – all swam in one day (aged 14+)
Solo (lap accrual) – swam over a month (aged 14+)
Duos – 2 swimmers (aged 14+)
Team – 4 swimmers (aged 14+)
Novelty Team – up 10 swimmers (aged 10+)
You will be provided with all of the forms to record the laps and times of each swimmer by your local pool/swimming group and, after the event, your pool/swimming group will submit them to the Rottnest Channel Swim Association so they will be displayed on the South32 Rottnest Channel Swim website!
When is it?
Most pools/swimming groups will hold their event on the same day as the 2025 South32 Rottnest Channel Swim which will be held on Saturday, 22 February 2025. However, some pools/swimming groups may be unable to hold their event on that day and may hold it on a different day. Make sure to check with your local pool/swimming club to check when they’re holding their event.
What are the rules?
For swims to be recognised on the South32 Rottnest Channel Swim website they do need to follow the event rules. Your pool/swimming group will run through these before you start the event. Alternatively, you can view them HERE.
What will I get?
That will depend on your local swimming pool/swimming group but all swimmers should receive a Virtual South32 Rottnest Channel Swim swim cap and an awesome day in the water! Some swimmers will also receive medals, certificates and prizes.
How much does it cost?
This will depend on your local pool/swimming group and what they’re offering for participants.
How do I register?
