Accessibility

The Rottnest Channel Swim Association aims to create great experiences for all members of our community. This includes making the South32 Rottnest Channel Swim accessible to all people and communities.

For Participants

We endeavour to accommodate all participant accessibility requests to give everybody the opportunity to swim to Rottnest. We work directly with each participant requiring assistance to explore options available that maintain the integrity of all successful crossings. We highly recommend contacting us at query@rottnestchannelswim.com.au before registering to ensure we can accommodate your request.

All seminar, workshop and briefing venues are wheelchair accessible and have accessible toilets available.

Cottesloe Beach (Mudurup)

Most area’s associated with the Event’s start line are wheelchair accessible.

The Town of Cottesloe has Beach Wheelchairs available for hire should you wish to have more access to the beach area. For more information regarding these, head HERE.

As the event is in a public outdoor space, there is good circulation and room to allow people to move around freely.

Wheelchair accessible toilets are allocated on the north and south sides of Indigo Oscar.

Rottnest Island (Wadjemup)

Not all ferry services to Rottnest Island are accessible to all abilities. Make sure you contact your chosen ferry provider before booking to ensure you’re on a service that can accommodate your needs.

Rottnest Island (Wadjemup) has wide pathways, easy to read signage and ramps to most facilities to ensure accessibility. There is also plenty of outdoor seating and numerous toilet facilities. There is a changing place facility located at the Henderson Avenue ablution block – near the Holy Trinity Catholic Church.

Designated accessible event spectating areas on Rottnest Island are available by request. To organise, please email query@rottnestchannelswim.com.au.
