Registering for the Swim

Registration Dates

Solos

Solo registrations will open in October 2026, with exact dates to be confirmed.

As per our 2026 cancellation policy, the RCSA guarantees entry for all registrants of the 2026 South32 Rottnest Channel Swim.

Lavan Charity Challenge Teams

Lavan Charity Challenge registrations will open in October 2026, with exact dates to be confirmed.

9News Duos and Teams

9News Duo registrations will open in October. Based on the 2026 event’s registration the outline will be similar to the following:

Registrations open from 8:30am (you will need to join the queue from 8:00am) Tuesday, 27 October (AWST) until sold-out.

Team registrations will open from 8:30am (you will need to join the queue from 8:00am) Wednesday, 28 October (AWST) until sold-out.

For the 2027 Event, we’ll, again, be using Queue-it; a virtual waiting room that provides fairer and controlled access to registrations by creating a digital queue. Learn more about Queue-it, and ensure you’re prepared for registrations by reading our FAQs

Registration links will be released on the South32 Rottnest Channel Swim website homepage and social media from 8:00am to allow you to queue in the digital waiting room before registrations open at 8:30am. For the best chance of securing an entry to the 2027 Event, you should enter the queue between 8.00am and 8.29am on either Tuesday, 27 October for 9News duos and Wednesday, 28 October for Teams. This will allow you to be allocated a number in the first round of queuing. For more information on the Queue-it system, head HERE.

If you register in a 9News duo or team, you’ll need to confirm your commitment to enter by making full payment of the entry fee when you register. Your entry will be confirmed after your successful payment.

Captains of 9News duos and teams who successfully register will receive a notification via email and can then invite team members to join by forwarding the email to their Team members. Teammates will be able to join a team between 10:00am Thursday, 30 October and 12:00pm Monday, 3 November. Teams who do not have all team members entered by this cut-off date, 12:00pm Monday, 3 November, risk losing their entry.

Alternatively, they can use the link below. Please note this link will only work for those wanting to join an already-created team. Team registrations are not yet open for the general public.

Payment options

Payment must be made when you register. Entry fees and additional merchandise can be paid for with either VISA or Mastercard via the online registration system. Please note that you will need to have an up-to-date website browser to facilitate the security requirements of the payment portal. Failure to have an up-to-date browser may result in you being unable to complete your registration.

Please Note

Payments after the registration window won’t be accepted – paying the entry fee when you register confirms your commitment to enter. There will be no refunds for duo and team entries who have successfully registered.

Please ensure you’ve read the full Terms and Conditions, and well as the Event Rules, before registering for the Event.

Duplicate entries

Submitting more than one entry is not allowed in the South32 Rottnest Channel Swim and swimmers, as well as all team members, will be penalised and banned from entering the Event for two years; including the current Event and the following Event. Swimmers are also not permitted to enter more than one category and no refund will be given if this is the case. Entries can not be transferred to friends or family.

Important for solo swimmers

Solo Qualifying Swim

Under the Event Rules, if you intend to do the swim as a soloist you must have either:

  • Completed a Rottnest Channel Swim solo crossing within the previous two years (2025 or 2026), or
  • Completed a 10km qualifying swim between Thursday, 2 May 2026 and Monday, 25 January 2027 in 4 hours and 15 minutes or less. Solo swimmers who don’t complete 10km in the required time, will not qualify and won’t be permitted to start.

You can learn more about qualifying opportunities, by visiting our Qualifying Swims page.

Solo Finishers Prize Packs

If you successfully complete your crossing as part of the South32 Rottnest Channel Swim, you will be awarded a Solo Finishers Prize Pack to recognise your incredible achievement!

When you register as a soloist, you will be required to choose what options and sizes you would prefer in your Solo Finishers Prize Pack. Take a look at the options below to help you decide what options you’d like.

Please remember, you will only be awarded a Prize Pack if you successfully complete your crossing. This Prize Pack is a gift from the Rottnest Channel Swim Association to recognise your incredible achievement, and is not an additional purchase.

2027 Event Shirts

Solo swimmers

If you’re a solo swimmer and you successfully complete the crossing, you’ll receive an individually embroidered official South32 Rottnest Channel Swim Shirt as part of your Solo Finishers Prize Pack. When you register, you’ll need to choose your t-shirt size as per the size guide – keep in mind there are no exchanges for t-shirts.

Please remember, this shirt WILL NOT be in the race pack you collect at the Event Briefing.

Solo swimmers who withdraw from the Event, or are unsuccessful in the crossing, will not be entitled to receive the prize pack nor the individually embroidered t-shirt, per the Event Terms and Conditions.

9News duo and team swimmers

If you’re in a 9News duo or team, you’ll receive a complimentary South32 Rottnest Channel Swim t-shirt with your entry. You’ll receive it in your race pack at the Event Briefing held in February and will be able to exchange your t-shirt size subject to size availability.
