2011 Rotto Rehearsal (10km Solo Qualifying Swim)

After entries for the 2011 WAtoday Rottnest Channel Swim close, all first time Solo swimmers will receive notification that they must prove their ability to complete the 19.7km event in the required time and are requested to enter the 10km Rotto Rehearsal or another 10km open water swim between the months of November and January. This time trial must be completed in under 4 hours and 15 minutes.

The 2011 Rotto Rehearsal will take place at Sorrento Beach, Western Australia on Sunday 29th January, 2011.

Open Water Swims

There are numerous open water swims held in Western Australia during the summer months. These are ideal preparation for the 2011 WAtoday Rottnest Channel Swim.

Virtual Rottnest Channel Swim

The Rottnest Channel Swim Association conducts the Virtual Rottnest Channel Swim (VRCS) in various pools throughout the state. In 2010, an impressive 334 participants took part in the event. The 2011 Virtual Rottnest Channel Swim will be held on Saturday 26th February, 2011. 

The VRCS is ideal for swimmers who:

• can’t attend the actual day;
• don’t wish to compete in the ocean but enjoy distance swimming;
• couldn’t get a boat for the 2011 WAtoday Rottnest Channel Swim; or
• missed the cutoff for entries for the 2011 WAtoday Rottnest Channel Swim
